Camden Schools

Camden has an excellent school system for providing its children with the means and knowledge to succeed. The City of Camden is a part of the Kershaw County School District headquartered within city limits. Camden has numerous church and secular daycare choices along with many solid preschool providers to start off on a solid educational foundation.

Camden offers three elementary level schools: Camden Elementary, Pine Tree Hill Elementary, and Jackson Elementary. Students attend these schools for Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. These three elementary schools feed into a single, brand new middle school facility, called Camden Middle School. Camden Middle covers 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Finally, Camden High School rounds out the district education for 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.

Camden also has several other schools within the system including ATEC for adult education. Kershaw County also has a growing local library in Camden. The High School provides AP and other college/technical school credit courses.

Central Carolina Technical College has a campus located in Camden. The main campus of Central Carolina is located in nearby Sumter, South Carolina along with USC Sumter amongst other schools.

Camden’s proximity to Columbia enables a reasonable commute to campuses like the University of South Carolina, Midlands Technical College, Benedict College, Allen University, Columbia International University, Columbia College and more. These schools offer a wide range of degree programs and it’s easily possible to complete a graduate degree while living in Camden.

Camden affords access to one of the better school districts in South Carolina on a consistent basis. It further provides easy access to a wealth of secondary education choices.
